Entering into the Professional World

This week was all about entering the professional world and learning the steps to do so. One things that I think is the the most important and necessary thing in the professional world is a resume. This week I worked on creating my resume, that would be acceptable and applicable in the real world. Although, I believe that this was the most important thing we did in class this week, it was also the most frustrating task for me. I've created a resume before, but it was several years ago and I felt that it was necessary for me to just start from scratch and create a new and more qualified resume. Since I was starting from scratch, it was at first very frustrating trying to remember all of my past experiences and skills that I've accumulate over the years. However, I'm glad that we're doing resumes in ISM, because this is something that I'll need for a very long time. Another thing I did this past week was create interview questions that I will be asking to the professionals I meet. This was really exciting for me because I have a lot of questions about what being a Neuropsychologist entails that I haven't learned yet from any of my Research Assessments. Finally, I also made my portfolio this week. This was very much like how it was when I made my digital portfolio. It took me a long time deciding on the endless possibilities of themes, color schemes, and supplies. Although it was challenging deciding on the perfect theme, I am glad that I now have a phsycial portfolio that I can have.
