Calling the Professionals

This week was all about getting contacts and calling real life professionals. The hardest thing for me was gathering all 25 contacts for me to call. Although there are an ample amount of a neuropsychologists in the DFW area, I still had a few contacts left, so I had to fill it with neurologists. Although neurologists are not specifically the same as neuropsychologists, I think they can give a lot of helpful information on the ins and outs of their job. A lot of the aspects of being a neurologist and neuropsychologist are very similar, so I don't think that having an interview with a neurologist would be setback or not as helpful. I also noticed that a lot of the neurologists in my contact list were certified in neurology and psychiatry, so I think they would know a lot about the neuropsychology field even though they don't specifically practice it. Once I gathered my contacts, I had to call these professionals to see if they would like to have an informational interview me. This was the most stressful thing to me. It was really scary, especially the first call, to call real life professionals to ask for an informational interview. Although, I haven't called many professionals yet, my goal for next week is to become more confident in calling professionals and getting at least 3 professional to agree to do an interview with me.
